 | SDCC 2008!!!
Written By: Jed Rock Posted on: June 17, 2008 |
Can you believe it’s getting to that time of year again? Comic Con is just around the corner and SOTA Toys is getting ready! Well, we’ve got all our exclusives planned and we’ll be giving EVERYONE a chance to get them, not just the people who go to the Con!
We have a slew of exclusives planned for this year. First, the much anticipated Street Fighter Revolutions will be very close to ready. In celebration of that we’ll have sneak peak exclusives. We are offering two exclusive for Revolutions. One is the Pink R. Mika – Green Zangief two pack. The second will be our Dark Dhalsim – Black E. Honda two pack. These two packs are limited to 500 pieces each will and will be on sale for $30.
We also plan on having a very special Turbo Sagat Statue! The Turbo Sagat features blue shorts with a red stripe. This formidable fighter will sell for $100 and only 100 will be available world wide! This is the first time our Sagat statues will be available and the only time this Con Exclusive “Turbo” paint scheme will be available.
Here’s the plan. We will be putting all of our exclusives up for pre-order on our website. So now, you will also be able to purchase the pieces with out even going to the Con! Our exclusives will go up for Pre-Sale on Tuesday, June 17th. We will be shipping all pre-orders AFTER the Con. Whatever is not pre-sold, we will bring to the con to sell on site.
Pre-ordered items will NOT be available for pick up at the con. The pre-ordering of our exclusives will end on Monday July 21st. Also, if you plan on canceling your order please do so before Monday July 21st.

 | The End of Dark Stalkers and Previews Re-Run
Written By: Jedrock Posted on: May 29, 2008 |
As some of you may have noticed, Darkstalkers and Street Fighters Previews is no longer on the SOTA toys site for pre-order. This is because after MANY months of trying to get enough pre-orders we have been unable to attain our goals. We are sorry to have take these down and we are sorry we will not be making these figures. We appreciate everyone who put in a pre-order and supported this valiant effort to get these figures produced.

 | Sagat Resin up for Pre-order!
Written By: Jedrock Posted on: May 8, 2008 |
SOTA is proud to announce the third piece in our Street Fighter Resin line, Sagat! Sculpted with all the attention to detail that you're used to from SOTA Toys, this 12-inch scale statue features Sagat clutching his scarred chest. Perhaps he is thinking about a certain Japanese Street Fighter who he'd like to pound into a pulp? Sagat will be available in September. Sagat is limited edition and will have an SRP of $119.99.

 | Now Playing 4
Written By: Jedrock Posted on: April 1, 2008 |
We are sorry to announce that we will not be making our ship date for Now Playing four. There are several factors that contribute to continued delay of this product. Rising gas prices have made all plastic difficult to manufacture across the boards. Quality control issues are in there as we are still trying to get an acceptable sample from the factory. Also, the loss of many large retailers and distributors (Tower, Musicland, etc.) have made it necessary to solicit these as long as it take to get them everywhere they need to go. We HAVE NOT CANCELED THIS LINE. We are doing everything we can to get it produced. Thanks for your patience and continued support.

 | SOTA TOYS ULTRA CTHULHU STATUE
Written By: Jedrock Posted on: February 4, 2008 |

This EXTREMELY limited edition resin statue will feature a more detailed paint and completely new vision of Cthulhu as compared to any similar products on the market. We are also happy to announce that Sideshow Collectibles will be carrying its own variant of this figure. Each will be individually numbered and carry an SRP of $249.99. They will be available in June of 2008.

 | SDCC Exclusives available
Written By: Jed Rock Posted on: August 1, 2007 |
As SOTA always does we have saved some of our SDCC exclusives and put them up for order for all you peeps who couldn't make it out to Sand Diego for the Con. These were all limited items so they are extremely rare. There were 500 each of Dimitri and Dee micro busts. There were only 1000 Turquoise Dan figures, half of which went to Corner Store Comics. The Evil Ryu statue is our web exclusive, but we debuted it at SDCC. There were only 225 of these made and we sold a good portion at SDCC. Enjoy!

 | SDCC Schedule
Written By: Jedrock Posted on: July 19, 2007 |
We will be leaving for San Diego Comic Con on Monday 7/23. We'll be down there the whole week and will not return until Monday 7/30. So please be patient with any orders you place during that time and any questions you may email to us. We will get to it all as soon as we return. Thanks and we hope to see you there.

 | SDCC: What's in Store
Written By: Jed Rock Posted on: July 16, 2007 |
San Diego Comic Con is just two weeks away so we thought we’d make a quick announcement as to what you can expect from SOTA Toys this year. This is the first SDCC with the new owners and we are all very excited to show our exclusives, some new products and announce new licenses!
Our exclusives this year are pretty sweet. For Street Fighter, we’ll have the Turquoise Dan. This figure will retail at $20. There were only 1000 of these made and we’re sharing 500 of them with Corner Store Comics. We also made a Pink Dan, but that is a Wizard exclusive we won’t be selling, but you will be able to get through Wizard. For Dark Stalkers we have a real treat! We created a Dimitri and a Dee micro bust. These are in scale with the Dark Stalkers action figures, so in a sense they are a sneak peek at the figures. There will only be 250 of each of these made and at $25 a piece they should go extremely quick. We will also have an exclusive Pink Felicia PVC that will retail at $40 and is limited to 250 pieces as well. Lastly we’ll have the Evil Ryu resin statue which will be limited to 225 pieces and sold for $80. As always anything we have left over after the Con we will put up on our website. But we really don’t anticipate there being much left over…
As for products that we’ll be showing…well we’ll have Street Fighter Revolution 1. So you’ll see painted samples of Dhalsim, E. Honda, R. Mika, and hopefully, Zangief. We’ll also be debuting sculpts and designs of Revolutions series 2. You’ll just have to wait and see what these will be. We will also debut some new Street Fighter resin pieces. Aside from having the Evil Ryu for sale, we’ll have proto’s of a Blanka and a Sagat resin statue as well as announcement of what statues we plan on doing in the future. We’ll have PU’s of Dark Stalkers so you’ll see samples of Dimitri and Lord Raptor. We’ll also be debuting the second wave of Dark Stalkers in design and sculpt form. Again you’ll have to wait and see what these will be!
Now Playing 4 will be making a showing at SDCC. You’ll be seeing the Anubis Warrior from The Mummy Returns, The Leprechaun from, well, The Leprechaun, and another Klown from Killer Klowns from Outer Space! We’ll also have samples of our American Werewolf in London Two Pack featuring Fresh Kill Meatloaf Jack and The Kessler Wolf! Bad Ass!
SOTA will be announcing a new license and debut a few other cool pieces but that’s the gist of what you’ll see!

 | The Future of Dark Stalkers
Written By: Jed Rock Posted on: July 16, 2007 |
SOTA Toys has always tried to please the hardcore fans. It is these fans that give us the support and input that helped make our toys some of the best out there. We are now taking this to the next level. We are going to take a more “grass-roots” approach to some of our figures. As you may or may not have noticed there are now temperature gauges on some of the products on our site. What these gauges reflect is how close the figure is to being produced. In the past we needed to solicit a certain amount of orders to justify manufacturing a product. No matter what some people may claim one does not manufacture product unless you have a guaranteed amount sold before the product even arrives. So what we’ve decided to do is let you, the fans, play an integral part in getting something made. These gauges will show you how close we are to producing a figure. We won’t do this for all of our figures, but we will do it for the ones that we know you want, but the buyers don’t seem to get.
The first line for this will be Dark Stalkers. We know you want it. We know you like it. But the problem is, we just don’t have the orders to warrant manufacturing the figures. That’s why Dark Stalkers has been “coming soon” for about three years. That’s why this line has been delayed, pushed back, and stalled out for so long. But now, using this “grass-roots” approach we really believe that you as fans can show that this is a line that you want produced. It’s really simple. Order the figures. Get your friends to order the figures. Spread the word. Let people know. All you people that believe in Dark Stalker it’s time to show your support! As soon as we hit our mark we’ll begin the manufacturing process.
As it stands right now there are a few retailers and distributors out there that have orders for Dark Stalkers. No doubt some of you have pre-orders with these companies. All these order will be honored. These will also count towards the total amount of pre-ordered figures

 | Dark Stalkers Price Change!!!!!!!
Written By: Jed Rock Posted on: May 11, 2007 |
SOTA Toys is lowering the retail price of Darkstalkers (from $24.99 to $17.99). In doing so, SOTA is taking the number of accessories that came with these figures and including only those that are essential. SOTA is responding to the fact that action figure fans care more about getting the figures that they want for a better price than they care about getting a large number of accessories with those figures.

 | Land of the Dead Up for Pre-order!
Written By: Jed Rock Posted on: March 1, 2007 |
Oh Heck Yeah!
Land of The Dead is Up for Pre-order!
These figures could be in our ware house as early as next week! Or by the end of the month. But one thing is for sure, the will be here.

 | Werewolves: The Truth and The Way
Written By: Jed Rock Posted on: February 22, 2007 |
Okay so there are some weird rumours going around out there in regards to the American Werewolf in London boxed set. Where do you people get this stuff? You may have heard a lot of different things about it, what it is, who's in it, how much blood will be involved...Well, I'll tell you.
The AWIL boxed set will be the Werewolf on the Moors attacking Jack. Jack will be torn apart. The exact pose of the wolf is still in queston as we are designing it right now. It will have a little articulation and probably be in "tearing Jack to pieces" pose. Jack will be bloody and wearing a puffy coat. There may be a back pack involved.
Don't believe the hype.

 | Street Fighter Revolutions News
Written By: Jed Rock Posted on: February 21, 2007 |
Well we have put up the Previews Shin Akuma and Previews evil Ryu for pre-order. All the Previews figures should be arriving in April. Evil Ryu and Shin AKuma are exclusive to our website so don't look for them any where else. There will be less than 250 of each figure!
And while I'm posting Street Fighter news I'll answer some questions that KEEP GETTING ASKED OVER AND OVER.
Street Fighter round five is not cancelled. We are no longer calling it round five. We are calling it Street Fighter Revolution round one. It is really not the same Street Fighter line. Joints are more character specific, sculpts are different in style, packaging is very much improved. It is slated for a late 2007 release. It will consist of Dhalsim, E. Honda, R.Mika, and Zangief. We're gonna do something with Dee-Jay but I'm not at liberty to discuss that.
We don't have the license to make Final Fight characters.
We will make more Street Fighter figures in the Revolution style.
Dark Stalkers is on schedule to ship on or around mid-June.

 | Another Round of "Ask SOTA" answers
Written By: Rene (Edited by JedRock) Posted on: February 5, 2007 |
Alright guys, time for another round of questions. This is Rene (edited by Jed again) answering questions, I think this straw game is rigged… Anyways, here we go.
Posted by Amoryllis Posted: December 17, 2006
Where can I find out if there are anymore World of Warcraft items?
Well, until DC Directs W.o.W. figures come out, there aren’t any. I think there’s some bootlegs out there but those are illegal.
Posted by Kelgar Posted: December 14, 2006
I heard recently that you are going to re-release the World of Warcraft figures you made for Blizzard Entertainment. Is there any chance of you making figures based on the other video game properties of Blizzard Entertainment, such as Starcraft or Diablo? Diablo characters as figures have the most potential for selling as the series contains a great variety of heroes and monsters that would be perfectly suited as state of the art figures.
No W.o.W. figures from us, other figures are possible but not happening anytime soon. (This is a n unfortunately rumor. If you see any of our WOW figures out there for sale there is a %95 chance these are illegally produced. Seeing how we manufactured these two years ago, and we did a limited amount, if these are appearing in mass as “re-runs” then it follows that these are illegal.)

i would like to know when the fall out boy contest will end
It’s over. (as of 1/15/07)

I would like to ask.. Where are the old street fighter figures... i mean.. the catalogue.. im a huge street fighter fan from switzerland and i got the old (rare) street fighter figures from Sota.. Ryu, Ken, Birdie, T. Hawk and sagat... i would like to ask if ( and when ) Zangief would come out.. im waiting also for Guy, Rolento, Juni&Juli and Dee Jay.. please responde me as faster you can... ( sorry for my poor english) thx and greets from switzerland
. Zangief will be coming in Q4 07 and the rest will follow. (We don’t have a catalogue. Our website is basically our catalogue since whatever you see on there is what’s available.)

When will NOW Playing Series 3 release. I havent seen any on sale yet in suncoast. I'm asking cos i'm really exited about the herbert west for series 4 and i'm just wondering if suncoast even still sells now playing figures because i havent seen series 3 there yet.
Series 3 is out, if you haven’t found them then you’re just not looking hard enough. Or you can order from our website.
Posted by Benjamin Jones Posted: December 19, 2006
Will there be any more World of Warcraft figures, other than the tauren shaman, troll priest and undead warlock?
Yes, they’re coming from DC Direct, they look awesome! Damn DC Direct…
Posted by R. Lemmon Posted: December 19, 2006
HI. Are you planning to make anymore kiler klowns from outerspace figures ?
Sure am… er, I mean sure are? Uh… Yes we am! (Look for it in an upcoming Nowm Playing Line)
Posted by Beyonder Posted: December 19, 2006
Yes, it really would be nice to know if indeed Guy will be that 'fourth' add=on to SF5 series.
If he’s voted, then he will be.
Posted by Andy Posted: January 13, 2007
I have submitted 3 questions via email and haven't gotten any replies , can someone please look into why no emails are being responded to?
We’re all pretty busy and can’t respond to e-mails right away, sometimes we don’t get e-mails for who knows what reason. Other times some questions are answered in this questions section.
Posted by Dave Posted: December 20, 2006
Just received series 3 of NP and in spite of production issues, I am very impressed. Med Mucklebones was lacking in moss but still impresses as does Baron Harkonnen and Macready with Kennel is absolutely fantastic! A dream come true and looks great with the existing McFarlane figures. I would like to know if we will see additions to these licenses in upcoming waves of NP? I would love to see a Paul Muad 'Dib in Freemen stillsuit with thumper, or a Paul Atreides versus Training Module and a Feyd vs. Paul box set. And seeing as how The Thing is one of my favorite films of all time I would love to have a Childs and Macready from the final scene or even another box set with Macready and Childs surrounding Bennings caught in partial transformation. And what about a couple more Legend figures like Blix or Honeythorn Gump? Keep 'em coming! You guys are making my wishes come true!
Why thank you sir. We’ll try to squeeze out as much as we can.
Posted by adrian roberts Posted: December 21, 2006
i was wondering if there was a release date for the re-animator now playing figure. i have been waiting for one for a long time, and you guys are awesome for making it first!!
Sorry dude, you gotta wait a little longer. There’s no set date for when the figure will be released.
Posted by adrian Posted: December 21, 2006
now showing...re-animator figure!!! release date??
Now showing?! I’m outraged that you don’t know the name of the line. I say good day sir.
Posted by Teresa Lloyd Posted: January 13, 2007
Legend:Lord of Darkness - How do you get it to speak?
You gotta put batteries into his back. It’s kinda tough cuz of the huge cape.
Posted by Steve Posted: December 22, 2006
Just picked up the 21" Prince of Darkness figure. Good news: absolutely awesome figure, one of my all time favourite characters brought to near life, so thanks! Bad news: why on earth does it not come with some form of instructions for accessing the battery compartment under the cape? The figure is very heavy and not very articulate so in no less than 5min I have snapped one of it's shoulder joints! If the cape comes off, where? I don't want to pull anything too hard in case I break something else! Extremelly dissapointed in the lack of ANY form of directions, or even which joints are articulated! A shame as the figure itself is brilliant.
Don’t know why there’s no instructions, must’ve just been forgotten. His cape doesn’t come off. Someone dropped the ball here. (His cape is bendy plastic so if you lay him on hi face and lift the cape you should have access to the battery compartment)
Posted by Clarklp Posted: December 23, 2006
I think you guys should add a female figure to series 5 so that way its a complete series swap.
If one is voted in then she’ll be made. If a chick doesn’t make it, blame the fans. (I think we should add a chick too. I like chicks. And broads. And Dames.)
Posted by clarklp Posted: December 23, 2006
Oh and will the Shadowloo Dolls come with their weapons?
Sure why not. (Ummmm WHEN we do the dolls they should have accessories comparable to the other Street Fighter figures.)
Posted by BillyGuile Posted: December 23, 2006
how many characters are you guys planning to have for round 5?and what's their composition?(all males, 1 female and 4 males, or the sota's usual 1 bad guy, 1 good guy, 1 big guy, 1 bombshell, and 1 random character thing)
The next series is gonna be a little different, it’s a series of four figures, Zangief, E.Honda, Dhalsim and a character decided by the fans.
Posted by Jimmy Posted: December 23, 2006
As a collector of werewolf figures, I was wondering - how come you guys are making just about every character from the American Werewolf In London movie except for the werewolf himself?
We’ve only made one figure from the movie. (And a werewolf should be on the way…..)
Posted by jessica Posted: December 24, 2006
i need to know how to find the info on the golden ticket contest for fallout boy. i have the pat. stump doll and the registration thing for the contest but i dont understand how to get my chance to win. this is my dream, i love fallout boy.
There are instructions on the package but it’s too late now.
Posted by Mikey Posted: December 24, 2006
Hi, you guys should make Final Fight figures next time. Characters such as Cody, Guy, & Rolento. Thanks
Sure thing. (That’s a different license, that we don’t have, but we can make SF versions of Guy and Rolento. )
Posted by Adrian Posted: December 25, 2006
Love the street fighter figures that you guys work on, they are alot of improvements in the previous round, keep it going, but i just have a samll question for you guys, Will you consider to work out any 12 inch SF figures and will you remake Chun-Li in the 2rd Strike version??? Keep on the great work , Looking forward to it!!Especially SF and DS figures
If there’s enough request for her then yes.
Posted by Alanna Posted: December 25, 2006

I'm trying to find Insane clown posse figures of there joker cards. I found 1 at a local hot topics store but not the one I'm looking for. the one I want is the green & purple Riddle Box. your web site was on the back but I can't find it any where on the site. Is there any way I can get this or if someone has one & wants to part with it. Thanks Chad
Those were exclusive to Hot Topics. We couldn’t sell those on the site. Best bet is e-bay.
Posted by Chunk-Style Posted: January 12, 2007
Hi! I was just wondering if there was a possiblity that a "Phantom of the Paradise" action figure could pop up in a future Now Playing line. Thanks!
Anything is possible, if you believe.
Posted by petes_gal Posted: December 27, 2006
Hows come the FOB figures aren't available here but they are at Spencers??
Where is here? (We’ll be putting these back up on our site shortly.)
Posted by petes_gal Posted: December 27, 2006
this goes with Alanna"s question... when does the fob contest end cause i would die to meet them. :)
Contest is over, you get to live.
Posted by Bev Posted: December 29, 2006
I PRE-ordered the whole FOB doll set on Sept. 6th and have not received them, nor my money back, nor a reply to my emails. (Two were sent back when sent to Plastic Fantasy Inc.) I hope that someone makes this right. How unethical not to send a 13 year old girl what she paid $65 for or give her money back.
I think this question is outdated. I’d like to know if you ever got your figures. (We have shipped out all of the FOB orders. IF you still have not received it email info@sotatoys.com and they’ll sort you out.)
Posted by StriderSyd Posted: December 29, 2006
Dear SOTA, I really love your line of SF2 figures (I hope they'll come out a little more frequently though), and I love the Aliens Vs. Predator figures you did also. I wanted to know (licensing cost/issues notwithstanding) if they was a possiblity of creating a line of AVP figures based on the Capcom beat-em-up video game. Aside from the Pred "Hunter", Pred "Warrior", Dutch, and Lynn Kurowsawa, there were various weird lookig Alien types. I'm currently working on a mod of the SF2 Ibuki figure into a Lynn Kurowsawa firgure. So far it's turning out OK, but I'd really like a line of this series made sometime in the (preferably near, but realisticly probably far) future. I realize there are still a lot of SF2 character's to go and I intend to get them all, (whoa!...sounds like Pokemon), this line is more of a wish list kid of thing. But is it possible? Thanx.
We never did AVP figures. We made a chess set. I doubt Capcom owns that license anymore and a lot of people don’t even remember that game so it would be pretty hard to get that license.
Posted by Jamie Posted: December 30, 2006
Hey Sota Toys, I have got 1 of ya Shin Akuma Figures (Round 4 SF) looks freakin' MAD!!!...anyway "Question" Any chance of you all producing SLIPKNOT Figures!? I read McFarlane was going to bring'em out but for some reason didn't. Something about the band being not popular enough in different countries ("Don't quote me on that"). Anyway Slipknot Figures would be sweet in the original red jumpsuites all with instruments, if not a 12" Dimebag Darrel figure! That would be GREAT! please email for reply and let me know. BTW keep up the great work - Jamie
Slipknot has the look but I doubt they’re popular enough. I’d love to do a Dimebag figure like our Johnny Cash, but right now it’s not happening.

I was looking at the Herbert West figure images at the Comicon 2006 toy gallery, I know SOTA only does 3 figures a series for Now Playing. I know for sure in series 4, the figures are from THE FOG, Leprechaun, and Re-Animator. I was wondering if Herbert West is still releasing for Series 4, cos in one article i read that the JIgsaw puppet would be in it but then it got cancelled. PLEASE PLEAS PLEASE! Have Herbert West in Series 4 and Do a better quality than the ones of series 3. This will be a first time figure for herbert west and i hope you do your best on him. As a film critic I believe Re-animator is one of those films that really deserve to be known more, no matter how good or okay a film is, a figure still needs to be at it's microscophic best. Now about those images of herbert west, i saw a carl hill head and cat, will there be herbert's bag of notes, reagent bottle, or a variant figure of him with the coat or trench coat from the final scene, will the figure have a base perhaps his lab,
His figure was put on hold, series four was changed and will be announced later. I can’t comment on what the accessories will be.
Posted by Bobby Posted: December 30, 2006
a few quick streetfighter figure questions. why the changes in production on series 5 figures? are sales declining or liscences expiring? is series 5 going to be the last one? if so i have to thank you guys for at least getting all the core figures(original 8 plus 4 bosses) out to complete the set and not leave us(the fans/consumers) hanging like other companies in the past. if it isn't then i will be looking foward to more high quality sf2 figures in the future from you guys.
We plan on making the whole cast, the change in direction is to re-launch the line.
Posted by cris Posted: January 4, 2007
will you guys please consider making a devil may cry line of action figures.
Been considering it for years.
Posted by dead body mans bitch Posted: January 1, 2007
Are you going to release anymore zombies? (from anything I don't care) keep up the great work and all the best for 2007
Sure will, zombies are awesome! (we got some zombies coming…)
Posted by Cyrus Michaux Posted: January 4, 2007
In Sota Street Fighter Series 5, will Dee Jay be a part of it? Then all 17 characters of Street Fighter II, including Akuma, will be out!!
If he wins the vote he’ll be in.
Posted by askme Posted: January 2, 2007
Youve stated that E. Honda, Dhalsim and Zangief will be released for series 5. If this is correct, then why am I still able to preorder juni, Juli, Guy, Zangief, Rolento, and Dee-Jay for a december 06 release? Is this false or just not updated? Should I maintain a preorder for SF5 with these figures listed? Is the voting that took place irrelevant at this point? Will there be voting in the future? Will you have preorders from your website for coming products (would help build, track and calculate sales)? is it worth suggesting ideas for future products or promotions (not a sarcastic question)? There used to be a worker from Sota that posted at figures.com. Is he still there. Thanks for taking the time to read and/or answer my questions. Love SF and DS figs. Hoping to see more of them. Excellent sculpts and articualtion.
Those pre-orders aren’t updated. We still read the threads, the main ones we read are www.action-figure.com, www.fwooshnet.com, and www.moviemaniacs.net. You can make suggestions in those forums, I read all of them. (Also we have not updated the retailers yet as the fifth figure isn’t decided. Once the fifth figure is decided the retailers will be able to change the line-up.)

it was said, that insane clown posse is going to release a 12 inch talking action figure.are you's going to be the creators? are they going to have that awesome wicked look, like the hell's pit figures? do you have any idea when they will b released?
If ICP have toys coming out, they’re not from us. (I did se these being solicited in Diamonds catalogue. We didn’t make them but they look pretty sweet.)
Posted by argon Posted: January 18, 2007
I'm a big fan of your Street Fighter line guys. Let's face it, who wouldn't be? What's the latest news on series 5? When will you release it(Zangief and the gang)?
Q4 07 is when they’ll be released.
Posted by Sebastiaan Posted: January 19, 2007
In one of the 'Ask Sota' columns (I believe it was the one from the 24th of november)it was said that SF series one models that were still sold, were black market versions. I bought one in a store yesterday (Ryu 1 player) and the box and the character seem 'normal'. In fact the store had all series one characters available except for Sagat (a shame really since i wanted that one also). Since it was the first time i even saw these figures over here in Holland, couldn't they just be some imported versions that been laying on the shelves for all these months? The store doesn't seem to sell a lot of figurines anyway so it might be a possibility.
It’s possible that they were imported legally, but it’s also possible that they’re bootlegs. (When you think about the fact that we made series one over three years ago, add to that the fact that these were extremely popular, then it’s hard to believe that these figures were just “laying around” and are probably bootlegs.)

I currently have "Killer Klowns From Outer Space" Series 2 toy, are there any available Series 1 toys? If so where/how can I buy one? Also, are there any Series 3, etc. out yet? Or will there be (Series 3, etc.)?
A few from series one might make their way into the vault, other than that, you might be able to find them on e-bay.

As i know Zangief,E honda,Dhalsim will come out in Round 5 in the mid of 2007, so may i know when is Dee Jay come out? Thanx>>>
Not mid 07, Q4 07 it’s a little closer to the end than the middle. Can’t tell you when Dee Jay is gonna be released, gotta wait to find that out.

First Question, I was wondering if you were in the works of pushing out the figures of Elena[SF3], rainbow mika[SFA3], felicia, and jon Taliban[darkstalkers]? Second, how do you get a job working for SotaToys. And what are the types of positions availible in creating/designing the figures?
We’d like to get all the SF and DS characters made. There aren’t any positions available right now.

 | Fall Out Boy Contest Over
Written By: Jed Rock Posted on: January 22, 2007 |
As of 1/15/07 the Fall Out Boy Golden Ticket Contest is over. We are no longer accepting entries. Any entries post marked after 1/15/07 goes straight in the trash! We will be picking a winner shortly, probably in the next thiry days or so.
Also, we will be putting FOB back for sale on our site very soon. We have to first clear out all the back orders for retailers and distributors. Once this is done we will be able to put the remainder up for sale. Probably next week.

Time for round two of answering questions. It’s Rene’s turn for this and I have a couple of rules I would like to address. First rule, there are no rules, second rule I won’t answer character specific questions, and third rule, I won’t answer wish lists. (Please note that Jed Rock edited this for Rene and left his dirty finger prints all over it. Jed’s comments are in parenthesis)
If your question is, “when will series five be out?” Then you didn’t read the first round of questions. Go read that and your question will be answered.
If you’re trying to sell Viagra, no thanks. Rene can get Rene into trouble with out the help of pills. All questions now have to be approved before they show up. Most everything will be approved, as long as it isn’t vulgar or ads for Viagra or something like that. Now onto your questions.

when will we see the next wave of street fighter figures, they were initially due out in july?
This was answered in the first round of answers.
Posted by Beyonder Posted: November 27, 2006
When the previews come out will it be any NEW sfer, or just the same beta's? Also around comic-con while Dhalsim Zangief E Honda are being shown does this mean we will end up with all three/or four(?)at once. or will we get them packed individually?
The Previews figures are just Ryu, Ken and Akuma. After these three the line becomes SF Revolution. Dhalsim, Zangief and E.Honda will be in the same series but packaged individually. If there are any more remakes then they will appear in the Revolution line.

We haven’t decided yet. (I feel there should be. But I’ve been feeling a lot of thing lately especially in regards to women.)

Hi guys, I got 2 questions for ya! 1. I love the "Nightmares of Lovecraft" line and I was wondering if there are plans on releasing any 2-up (12" scale) figures? A large scale Cthulhu would rock my socks. 2. Could you drop some hints on who could pop up in future "Now Playing" lines? For example, are there plans on producing more Dune or Legend figures? Thanks! :-D
1. No plans to do 12 inch scale Lovecraft, sorry.
2. I could drop hints but then I’d get fired… again…
(Haha, I remember when Rene got laid off. It lasted about three days before we needed him back.)

Hi there, that Anarkis Darkstalkers figure I have seen concept pics for is dope! when will it be released? How comes you arnt releasing it soon- as far as darkstalkers figures go, there are a million different Dimitri and Morrigan toys out there- get the more interesting characters out there! Keep up the good work guys.
Thanks for the kind words. Sure there are a few Dimitri and Morrigan toys out there, but ours are better. Plus Morrigan won’t be released until series two so you might have to wait to find out more news.

What about Pennywise the Clown from Stephen Kings IT whats up with him will he not sell his licenses
It’s because of that clown that I couldn’t even go near sewer drains until I was 15. And even then I would expect some creepy clown to poke his head out. I would love to do it, but I think you hit the nail on the head with the second part of your question. ( Haha, I remember when Rene couldn’t go near sewer drains.)

I’ll be putting up a weekly blog for the progress of one of these guys. I don’t know if we have any grey Sodoms. Check the vault regularly cuz we put up things with no announcements, we’re crazy like that. (Grey Sodom, really? We have some of those. I’ll put them up.)

I saw a poll about for which version of the werewolf from An American Werewolf in London would collectors want to see and I was wondering what effect this poll will have on the creation by you guys of a future werewolf figure from An American Werewolf in London. Are there any recent plans for such a figure to be made? If so, do you have a time frame for when we can expect this new werewolf figure? I take it this figure will be released as part of the Now Playing series? Thanks, in advance, keep up the great work.
That poll was put up to jerk you guys around… I’m kidding, the poll will have an influence on what scene the wolf will be from if/when we decide to make him. (There are other influences too. Like the polls cool older brother who got it drunk for the first time.)

when the 07' con is done, will there be any focus on doing boxed sets, Hugo-Posion, Yun-Yang, Alex-Dudley, Mokoto-Elena Oro-Urein, Nerco.. ect we need more 3rd strike'rs of course when the sf2 cast is complete. these are the characters that are trully missing from the series (Capcom Universe) and why they are not being spoken of (considerd)is a little odd, they are just as good as any of the others- so when can we here something offical on 3rd strike? or if any even have a chance of being done?
I think this falls into the character specific AND wishlist category. Gotta wait on the official word.

When will the Herbert West "Re-Animator" be released?
No set date, you’ll have to wait for the press release.
Posted by Nightmares of Lovecraft Posted: December 4, 2006
There is rumour that Sota will remake the lovecraft in very poor sculpt. the reorder of the lovecraft will lose even more detail. Take care, Fan will not allow it.
Not only is that just a rumor, that’s a bad rumor that makes no sense. ( I’m with Rene on this one. Why would we remake something in a poor sculpt? Why not just sculpt it poorly the first time?)
Posted by Glynne Ainsworth Posted: December 4, 2006
I love your Street Fighter Figures, and am looking forward to the Darkstalkers. Are the DS figs going to be in the same scale as the SF figs, and why are you releaseing the DS fis 2 at a time? Plus I am asking now for a Felicia fig. Thanks, Glynne
Darkstalkers will be in the same scale as the Street Fighters. Releasing them two at a time was the only way we could (affordably) do it. I second your Felicia figure request.

Is there a date that the contest cards should be handed in for the fall out boy contest because there isnt one on the box whick the contest card is on.
The sooner you can get them in the better. (The drawing will be held on the first week of 2007. Anything dated after 1/1/07 will not be counted and further more will be fed to Rene for not knowing more about his favourite band in the world.)
Posted by Beyonder Posted: December 5, 2006
I know sota is focusing on DS/SF which is good but what about the fans who are into Final Fight? you could do some figs without doing a whole series, cody after all, IS from f.f. also Guy, so why no Haggar? Haggar is just as much the flagship of final fight as guy, cody, the others.. anyway why Haggar is not seen as an equal commodity escapes me.
While Guy and Cody are from Final Fight the only reason we can do them is cuz they’re in Street Fighter. Haggar isn’t in Street Fighter, therefore we can’t do him.

Is there a final list of who will be included in Now Playing series 4? And when can we expect to see these in stores? By the way, Leprechaun looks awesome!
There is a final list but you gotta wait to find out all that info.

Not as of this writing.

Any update on the Fall Out Boy figures. I pre ordered for my Grandaughter. Will they be avail in December?
Jed can answer this. (I refuse to answer this.)

Why do people ask the same question over and over again after you've already answered it?
I don’t know…
Posted by MXC4life Posted: December 8, 2006
Is dark stalkers going to go up for ordering soon?
Gotta wait, sorry. (Define soon...is early 2007 soon?)
Posted by FLover Posted: December 11, 2006
The answer is coming very late. Why do you cancel my question? I ask how to distinguish the real SF from black market. Why do the factory take the hold hostage? Can the quality of SF be as good as old one? Sota is not seen to be consistent on quality???
The answers come late cuz we don’t have someone working the site full time. We usually answer questions after work but our outside lives get in the way. To be fair we never cancelled anyones question that wasn’t about Viagra. There’s no real way to distinguish the bootlegs on look alone. The quality is usually pretty bad.

Hi guys, glad you updated , much appreciated. Happy you answered the question about sf5 but one thing really bugs me, are ROLENTO and GUY still included in this round after being promised these as part of the fan choice winners?? if you can make sodom you can make these two. Broken promises lead to loss of customers guys!!
One thing some people are forgetting is that the promises of old SOTA don’t apply. Rolento and Guy will be released but not in round five.
